Private Arthur Wilkinson, who was reported to be of Woomelang, Victoria, was killed in action in Belgium. He was said to be a leading Mallee footballer. He had three other brothers who fought during WW1.

1897 Bombardier Francis Edelbert Wilkinson MM, 11th Field Artillery Brigade, 3890 Lance Corporal John Gustave Wilkinson and 3889 Pte Eric Cyril Wilkinson both 32nd Battalion who enlisted at the same time. All three brothers returned to Australia in 1919.
