Son of David Veitch and Rose Anne Veitch nee Logan of Warry Street, Valley, Brisbane, QLD. Brother of George Veitch who returned to Australia on 5 August 1919 having served with the 8th Field Company Engineers

Commenced return to Australia on 12 June 1919 aboard HT Themistocles disembarking on 10 August 1919 at Sydney for onward travel to Brisbane
