Biography contributed by Horizon Christian School

Alfred Percy Scott was born in April in 1875. He was born in Adelaide, South Australia. He was the brother to his sister Miss Bessie Scott, who lived in Cowan Willa, 4 Bellvue Terrace, Perth, Western Australia. His parents were unknown. When Alfred was older he moved to the Royal Hotel in Perth, Western Australia. He was a single man and worked as an accountant. His religion was the Church of Enland.

Alfred Scott enlisted for the Australian imperial force (AIF) on the 16th of September, 1915. He was 42 years old when he enlisted. Alfred's rank after enlisting was a sergeant and he was in the unit 10th Light Horse Regiment, 12th Reinforcement. At the time of  enlisting, Alfred was a fair man at the height of 5 foot 6 and a 1/2 and he weighed 182 pounds (82.6 kg). His eyes were the colour blue. Alfred's sister Bessie was his next of kin. Reasons Alfred may of enlisted are because he wanted to protect his sister, because he didn't have a wife or kids depending him to come home or because he wanted to defend/serve for his country.

Alfred then later embarked on the 22nd of November 1915. He embarked Fremantle, Western Austraila on board the HMAT RMS Mongolia. After the nominal roll, Alfred then was Ranked as a private and his unit was the 2nd A.M.T.Coy. He was later involved in the 4th division artillery battalion. The 4th division was originally formed in Egypt in February 1916. It was included in the infantry brigade. There where delays in assembling the division so they didn't depart until June 1916.

He returned to Australia on the 16th of June 1919. After his arrival, Alfred was a awarded with 3 medals: 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal. How or when he died was unknown.
