The details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan, published 2017, refer to pages 151 to 153, 156 & 274. Prior to the war he was a shop assistant of Cobar NSW. He enlisted 6th Oct 1915 aged 27 years. He served with the 1st Infantry Battalion and rose to the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded a Distinguished Conduct Medal for activities. He survived the war, departing the UK for home 6th July 1919.
