3 Nov 1916: Involvement AIF WW1, Private, 2878, 60th Infantry Battalion, Polygon Wood, John fought at Bullecourt,Polygon wood, Passchendale, Messiness, Eatres, Hamel, Villers Brettoneux, Harbonniers, Perrone, Billicourt. All names of battles have been copied from a letter sent to John at the end of the war from the King. On the back John wrote “ This is a small souvenir for you of the Great War. I suppose George R V means to thank me for being a “spectator” in the following stunts. I am not well versed in the French language but I will do my best” followed by a list of battles.
