Military Medal
'During the past 6 months Corporal HARKER has been scout Corporal of the Battalion, and during that period he has done much work of inestimable value. He possesses in a large degree courage and initiative and presence of mind, in fact all equalities that go to make up a good scout and good N.C.O. He knows no fear and his men are so imbued with confidence in him that they will follow him to any extent. The success of the operation at VILLE-SUR-ANCRE on 19th May and of the raid at BUIRE on 14th June, 1918, owe much to the work of this N.C.O. He patrolled NO MAN'S LAND continually and gained most accurate information which proved to be of the greatest value. At WARNETON before the Battalion moved south, Corporal HARKER played a great part in maintaining control of NO MAN'S LAND.'
