Herbert William COXHEAD S/N 5079 was born in June quarter 1893, Ascot, Windsor, Berkshire, England His father was Charles COXHEAD and mother Hannah ANDERSON he joined WW1 on 24.1.1916 as a Private in 11th Australian Infantry Battalion Unit left Fremantle 31.3.1916 on ship Shropshire He returned to Australia on 5.7.1916 Herbert died on 8.3.1918 in Perth - he was living in Beenup in WA His father Charles COXHEAD died 10.2.1932 aged 70 years - buried Karrakatta His mother Hannah died 5.5.1952 agd 93 years - buried Karrakatta Herbert also had a sister Violet Maud who was born in 1897 in Windsor UK she married William John MARTIN in Western Australia in 1921 OBITUARY Trove - 9th March, 1918 West Australian Newspaper COXHEAD.-The Friends of the late Herbert William Coxhead, of the 11-16th Battalion, A.I.F. (returned), and later of Beenyup S.W. Railway, are respectfully invited to follow his remains to the place of interment, the Anglican portion of the Karrakatta Cemetery. The Funeral is appointed to leave Messrs. C. H. Smith and Co.'s. Private Mortuary, 281 Newcastle street,Perth, at 2.15 o'clock this (Saturday) afternoon, per road.
