He was 22 and the son of Annie Wiles, of 34, Cambridge Rd., Seven Kings, Ilford, Essex, England, and the late Ernest Desmond Wiles. Apparently he was born in London but his birth registration is not found.
In the United Kingdom, he is commemorated in the Ilford War Memorial Gazette and in the Ilford War Memorial Hall.
