Next of kin given as a friend Cissy Pickering of Post Office Hotel, Eidsvold, QLD
A letter was received at Base Records in November 1918 from a Mrs Grace Amelia Fox of 286 MacQuarie Street, Hobart, Tasmania claiming that she was Joseph's wife and which he denied. She gave his name as George Joseph Fox and said that they had not divorced or legally separated and she produced a marriage certificate dated 1904. Some information does not match information that Joseph had given when he enlisted
Commenced return to Australia on 12 May 1919 aboard HT Port Napier disembarking at Sydney on 4 July 1919 for onward travel to Brisbane
