MR. ALAN DEMPSTER.
Mr. Alan Dempster, 39, son of Mr. J. M. Dempster, of the well-known Sydney firm of jewellers, and a nephew of Canon Baker, suddenly collapsed and died while at work yesterday afternoon. He was active in the work of the Presbyterian Church at  Northbridge, where he lived, and was a delegate to the central executive of the Presbyterian Men's League. Mrs. Dempster and three daughters survive. The remains will be cremated this afternoon.

The remains of the late Mr Alan M Dempster were cremated at the Northern Suburbs Crematorium yesterday following services in the city and at the crematorium, both being largely attended. The Rev W. A. Marsh, father-in-law of Mr Dempster, conducted the services and Canon Baker, uncle of the deceased also took part. Among those who attended the funeral were representatives of the Highland Society, the Burns Club, the staff of the Government Savings Bank, the Northbridge Presbyterian Church (of which Mr. Dempster was a member of the committee of Management), the Presbyterian Men's League the Presbyterian Welfare of Youth department, the staff of J M Dempster Ltd., the Parramatta Congregational Church and many friends and business acquaintances.
