18 Oct 1918: | Honoured Military Medal, During attack on Montbrehain, north of St. Qunetin, on 5th October 1918 while advancing to the final position the Company was strongly counter attacked and a platoon that was somewhat advanced was in danger of being cut off. Despite heavy fire from the enemy who had shelter from a bank Private Ollis accompanied his Officer in rushing the enemy party from a flank. They killed a German Officer, wounded another, and captured and brought in the whole of the hostile party numbering forty. The post contained three heavy and five light machine guns. | |

Son of William Ollis and Esther Ollis nee Wilding of Birmingham, England
Husband of Mary Ollis on Mary Street, Windsor, Victoria later of Sorrento, Victoria. Father of William Ollis who returned to Australia on 23 August 1919 having served with the 24th Battalion.
Commenced return to Australia on 1 August 1919 aboard HT Argllshire disembarking on 22 September 1919
