William Philip Oscar was born on 24 October 1891 in Picton, New South Wales, Australia. To Philip and Ellen Maxwell nee' Cunningham. He married Mary Augustina Martin O'BRIEN in 1912 in Lithgow, New South Wales, Australia. They had two children during their marriage. William enlisted into the AIF on the 28 February 1916 and he fought on the Western Front, William was shot in battle and as he was being stretchered to an aid station he died on 30 March 1918 in Hangard, Somme, France, at the age of 26, and was buried in Villers-Bretonneux, Somme, France. He was Survived by his wife & two young children.
