Son of John Lindsay and Harriet Hilda Lindsay nee Morris of Morwell, Victoria formerly of Traralgon, Victoria. Brother of John Percy Lindsay who returned to Australia on 15 June 1919 having served with the 4 Light Horse Regiment, George Alfred Lindsay, Alice Edith Lindsay and Hilda Marion Lindsay
On Thursday morning last Mr and Mrs Lindsay received word that their son, Private J. H. Lindsay, had died of wounds. Private Lindsay was previously reported wounded. He was the eldest son of Mr and Mrs Lindsay, and 32 years of age. Private Lindsay was wervice in the Boer War and was one of the earliest to volunteer to served in the Australian Expeditionay Foreces. The Parents who have given a brave son to the Empire have the sympathy of the people.
The sympathy of the nation will he extended to the parents of deceased in the loss of their son.
