"...4822 Private Herbert John Eccleston Hume, 6th Battalion. A farmer from Kyneton, Victoria prior to enlistment, Pte Hume embarked with the 15th Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Wiltshire on 7 March 1916. Later transferring to the 5th Pioneer Battalion, he was promoted to Lance Corporal and returned to Australia on 8 May 1919..." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
