When Norman Argent Truscott was born on 20 December 1892 in Strahan, Tasmania, his father, John, was 34 and his mother, Agnes, was 27. He married Emily Louisa Gurley on 12 March 1921 in Stockton, New South Wales. They had four children in 19 years. He died on 1 April 1959 in Stockton, New South Wales, at the age of 66.
