"FOUND WITH THROAT CUT
The body, of Herbert Baldock (52), married, was found near his home at Wesley Vale yesterday morning with his throat slit. A razor was found near his right hand. Baldock, a returned man of the 1914-18 war, had been in ill health for a considerable time. An inquest was opened before the Coroner (Mr. J. C. Paice), at La-trobe, and adjourned. Some time ago Baldock had found another man with his throat cut and a razor in his hand only a few yards from the spot where he died." - from the Hobart Mercury 22 Mar 1949 (nla.gov.au)
