Born in Brompton Park on 13 December 1895. Son of John and Mary Jane Colwell (nee Barnes). On the 14 October 1922 Clifton married Irene Gladys Gitsham in the Methodist Church, Pirie Street, Adelaide. Father of Dean, Elvin and Victor. Residential address at the time of death was Bridgewater.
