Biography

AUSTRALIAN EXPEDITIONARY FORCES.

PRESENTATION.

The staff at the Mount Gambier railway station met on Sunday morning to say good-bye to Mr. E. V. Dunn, who has enlisted for the front, and who was for five years employed at the station in positions rising from ordinary clerk to acting-stationmaster. The President of the local branch of the S.A. Railways and Tramways Association (Mr. S. R. Whitford) presided, and after referring to the gentlemanly character of Mr. Dunn, which made him so popular with all with whom he came in contact, presented him with a set of military brushes. These were subscribed for by railway employes and carters who have business at the station. Mr. Whitford's remarks were supported by Mr. J. S. Brooks, the stationmaster and Messrs. E. W. Mansfield, A. P. Walker, J. Moten, and J. Jones. Mr. Dunn made a fitting reply.
