Died on this date - 18th February........Private Harry Coles was born at Moss Vale, NSW in 1886. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) on 6th November, 1916 as a 29 year old Labourer from Newtown, Sydney, NSW.

Private Coles had been admitted to Ship's Hospital from 18th December, 1916 to 17th January, 1917. He was posted to 9th Training Battalion at Durrington on 30th January, 1917 & went AWL from 8th-9th February, 1917. Private Coles was admitted to Fargo Military Hospital, Wiltshire on 12th February, 1917 with Laryngitis. He died at 9 a.m. on 18th February, 1917 from Broncho Pneumonia.

There were 3  Australian SOLDIERS were buried in Durrington Cemetery Wiltshire (Coles & Hindhaugh were buried on 20th February & McMurtie was buried on 21st February, 1917).
Durrington Cemetery contains a total of 141 Australian WW1 Soldiers.
