Joseph Patrick GUILFOYLE was born on 9th February, 1876 in Drumcondra, Dublin Ireland
His parents were James & Letitia McManus GUILFOYLE
Prior to WW1 he had served from 1900 to 1902 in the Dublin Yeomanry (2nd Company) in active service in the South African war & was awarded the South Africa Medal & 4 clasps
He was awarded the 1914-15 Star, British War Medal & the Victory Medal for his service in WW1
