Son of Arthur James O'Rourke and Elizabeth O'Rourke nee McSweeney of Lebrina, Tasmania.

At the time of enlistment he was residing in Karoola, Tasmania

Brother of Lawrence William O'Rourke who was killed in action on 29 July 1916 while serving with the 26th Battalion and has no known grave. His name appears on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial

Commenced return to Australia on 16 June 1919 aboard HT Ormonde disembarking on 1 August 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Hobart

Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal

On 12 June 1920 Terrance married Georgina Violet Daley in St David's Cathedral, Hobart.
