Mentioned in CEW Bean official war history, as a machine gunner. Served in 5th Battalion and then transferred to 21st Battalion where he ended the war. Married to Emily Cullen after WW1. Declared totally and permanently incapacitated due to severe war injuries (shot in both shoulders on separate occasions, then shot in the head and hand). Worked as guard for note printing facility in Melbourne for many years after WW1. Lived in Kew. Died 1978 and buried Melbourne General Cemetery.
