"Mr. John L. Pearce 21 Hill-street, West Hobart has received word that his eldest son, Corporal Henry George Pearce who was severely wounded in the leg and arm died on November 30. The deceased soldier was a fine strapping young fellow of splendid physique and was popular among his comrades. He went from Tasmania with the 5th Reinforcements for the 26th Battalion."
