"...3537 Private Alexander Hugh Hastings, 2nd Battalion, of Newcastle, NSW. A civil servant with the State Fisheries Department prior to enlisting on 5 August 1915, he embarked from Sydney, NSW, aboard HMAT Berrima on 12 December 1915.
