Sudden Death At Busselton - Well Known Quindalup Resident Expires.

ERNEST G SMITH, age 45, a well known resident of Quindalup, died suddenly at Busselton on Wednesday.

Deceased, who had come into town to do some carting, was found in the yard of the Commercial Hotel, by the licensee (Mr. A. O. Rippon) in a state of collapse. He was taken inside and made comfortable, and Dr. Yates was in attendance in a few minutes. As it was found that Smith had experienced a paralytic stroke and was fast lapsing into unconsciousness, his removal to the hospital was ordered. At that institution every possible attention was given, but the patient gradually sank and died late in the afternoon. Mr. Smith was the son of Mr. And Mrs. George Smith of Quindalup, and had lived all his life in the district.

He leaves a widow and several young children, for whom much sympathy is felt. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon, when the remains were laid to rest in the Anglican portion of the Busselton cemetery. In the absence of the Rev. S, A. Milward, the Rev. G. Morris conducted the service.
