Lieutenant Treloar was presented with his Military Cross by General Allenby on August 28th, 1918 at a location near Jericho.
The Commonwealth of Australia promulgated this award, Gazette, No 61; 23rd May, 1919.
Lieutenant Treloar was recognised for his gallantry and devotion to duty in the field:
"For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in command of a post which was attacked by the enemy. He reported the attack while the enemy line advanced, enabled the artilery to bring fire to bear, which forced the enemy to to deploy. His personal courage and example were largely responsible for the repulse of the enemy with heavy loss."
