Herbert

Newspaper report Ex Tamworth NSW 1927 shows Walter had been found and was supporting his family.

Family Interest

Herbert was born around 1880 in the Tamworth district to Charles Henry Emery and Mary Emery (nee Marchant).

Herbert survived the war , was wounded on two occasions as well as gassed
upon his return Herbert married in Moree NSW and for a time went into business with his brother in a bakery.

Not much else is known of Herbert as he appeared to abandon his marriage according to police gazettes (one could assume that by today's standards many of returned service personnel would have been suffering PTSD).
