Private Frederick Tickner, originally from Epsom, Surrey, England, one of 6 children to James and Mary Tickner. Older brother Herbert Methuen Tickner and younger brother Alfred James Tickner also served during the war. 73793 Private Herbert Tickner served with the British Army Service Corps, her survived the war and passed in 1953. Younger brother 230948 Petty Officer Alfred Henry James Tickner was Killed In Action while serving on the H.M.S. "Louvain" in the Aegean Sea in 1918, he was aged 29 years.
