Son of John Anderson Hogg of Holyanbank, Galashields, Scotland
Address at the time of enlistment was given as Ellesmere Road, Windsor, Victoria
Returned to Australia the first time on HS Kanowna on duty with orders to report to Staff Officer at Broadmeadows
Between 29 April 1919 and 29 August 1919 he studied a course on motor engineering with D.F. Billing of Great Chapel Street, Oxford Street, London, England
Commenced return to Australia on 15 November 1919 aboard Yperinga disembarking on 9 January 1920 at Sydney for onward travel to Melbourne
