Returned to Australia the first time on HS Kanowna on duty with orders to report to Staff Officer at Broadmeadows
Between 29 April 1919 and 29 August 1919 he studied a course on motor engineering with D.F. Billing of Great Chapel Street, Oxford Street, London, England
Commenced return to Australia on 15 November 1919 aboard Yperinga disembarking on 9 January 1920 at Sydney for onward travel to Melbourne
