Edward Henry Apsey was the father of Edward Apsey. He was a 45 year old Golf Club Custodian when he enlisted in July 1915. He stated that he had had 10 years prior service in the Victorian Artillery. He was initially posted to 58th Battalion however was later transferred to 60th Battalion in Egypt, with whom he served in France.
Edward was wounded on 19 July 1916, suffering a serious gun shot wound to his arm at Fromelles, resulting his return to Australia and discharge in April 1917.
He died in 1935.
