Son of Joseph Simmons and Isabella Simmons nee Hart of 185 Park Street, Parkville, Victoria. Isabella named as next of kin
During 1900c Elias married Jessie Mabel Goodwin in Victoria but separated.
Commenced return to Australia on 12 April 1916 aboard HS Karoola
