"2468 Private Claude Frederick Wayland, 7th Battalion, of Highett, Victoria. A carter prior to enlistment, he embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, with the 7th Reinforcements aboard HMAT Demosthenes (A64) on 16 July 1915. Pte Wayland was killed in action in Gallipolli on 14 December 1915. He was 22 years of age." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
