Patrick DOLAN wa born at Bulla, Victoria in 1894 and was living in the Colac area when he enlisted in the AIF.

He was working as a Millhand in the Otway's timber industry.

His NOK was his Father, Bernard Dolan who lived at Gellibrand, Victoria but later at Queens Street Colac.

Patrick enlisted, in Colac on 12/9/1914 and left Australia on 25/2/1915 aboard the HMAT Star of Victoria as part of the 8th Light Horse. He served with this unit on Gallipoli and was wounded on 6/5/1915 and evacuated. He returned to Gallipoli on 8/8/1915 and was there until the evacuation.

He transferred to the Provost Corps, was appointed Corporal and served with them till the end of the war.

He returned to Australia on 7/8/1919 and was discharged on 6/10/1919.

In 1967 he was living at 20 Fyans Street Colac.

Patrick died on 22/5/1979.

He is remembered on the Colac and Sunbury War Memorials.
