Son of John Vaughan and Jane Mary Louisa Vaughan nee Pascell of Nhill, Victoria later of Western Australia.
Brother of William George Vaughan who was killed in action on 6 August 1916 while serving with the 48th Battalion and has no known grave. His name appears on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial.
Husband of Matilda Agnes Vaughan nee Hughes of Brookman Street, Perth, WA formerly of Argyle, WA. Arthur and Agnes married during 1913c in Wellington, WA.
