Private William Edward Cutten (Service No:6786A) served in the AIF with 24th Infantry Battalion from 11 August 1917 to 28 September 1918. Private Cutten was Discharged as Medically Unfit (Chronic Otitis Media - Deafness).

Born in 1891 in Melbourne Victoria, Bill was the youngest of four children of Charles Francis Cutten (b1849 in London, England) and his second wife Sarah Jane Cameron (nee McNaughton; b1850 in Staffordshire, England). Charles (a Station Master with Victorian Railways) and Sarah married in Beaufort nr Ballarat, Victoria - Charles had two children with his first wife who died in 1881. Charles worked as a Station Master and Customs Officer for Victorian Railways and moved his family to Melbourne in 1891.

Bill worked as a Despatch Rider, Canvas Manufacturer, Storeman and Pottery Worker and was in Melbourne in 1924 when he married Selina Esther Ruth Kingsford (b1903 in Melbourne, Victoria). Bill and Selina lived in Melbourne where Bill was a Pottery Worker before seeking work with relatives in Clump Point nr Ayr, QLD - Bill and Selina lived at Clump Point - where Bill was a Labourer/Farmer - before returning to Melbourne in 1932, where they Divorced in 1933. Bill then lived in Melbourne, where he worked as a Contractor, Manager and Carpenter. Bill died in 1962.
