Biography

"MISSING SOLDIERS.  PRIVATE F. S. TREDREA.

Mr. A. Tredrea, of Hamilton, writing to his sister, Mrs. H. V. Roper, informed her that his son, Private Stanley Tredrea, has been missing since 19th July. Private F. S. Tredrea sailed in November last, and was in Egypt for several months. Last week Mrs. Roper received a pretty souvenir and cards from her nephew, dated 17th July, from France. Private F. S. Tredrea is 24½ years of age, and was in business with his father, Mr. A. Tredrea, tailor and outfitter, at Hamilton, when he enlisted. He is married, and has one little boy, who, like all the relatives, are anxiously awaiting further news." - from the Bendigo Advertiser 21 Sep 1916 (nla.gov.au)
