Biography

Walter Herbert GAMMON was born in 1874 in Beechwood in Victoria His parents were George GAMMON and Kate BURGIS S/N 5699 he joined 24th Battalion on 25.1.1916 Killed in Action 11.3.1917 Buried Warlencourt British Cemetery Plot IV , Row F, Grave 34, France His father George received a Memorial Plaque & Scroll and his Victory Medal Walter also earned a British War Medal His parents George & Kate are both buried in Kew (Boroondara) Cemetery in Victoria His father died in 1925 & his mother in 1929
