21 Jul 1915: | Wounded AIF WW1, Trooper, 809, 6th Light Horse Regiment, ANZAC / Gallipoli, Samuel was shot in the head and shoulder by a sniper whist constructing trenches at Pine Ridge near Chapman's Post. His comrade who was about to relieve him stated that he saw him shot but Samuel made light of it and walked to the medical station. He was ultimately transferred to a hospital in Malta where he died from the wound. | |
