"THE LATE PRIVATE A. WOOD.
Mrs. W. Wood, of New-street, Plympton, has been advised by cable that her son Arthur, aged 22, was killed on December 12 in France. Before enlisting he was engaged in farming on the West Coast for four years and was loved by all who knew him. His father is on active service and is at the present moment ill in a hospital in London." - from the Adelaide Chronicle 20 Jan 1917 (nla.gov.au)
