Charles Albert THOMAS was born in Melbourne, Victoria in 1896

His parents were John THOMAS & Alice GOODWIN

He enlisted in Melbourne on 3rd September, 1914 & embarked with the 2nd Field Company Engineers on the ship Orvieto on 21st October, 1914

He returned to Australia on 23rd October, 1918

Charles died on 26th December, 1918 along with his brother Frederick George in an accident between a car & a goods train at Newport, Victoria - he is buried in the Williamstown General Cemetery in Victoria

His brother Frederick George THOMAS (SN971) also served in WW1

They were buried with full military honours
