Bob was the sixth of ten children of William James Ecclestone (b1854 in Fremantle, WA) and Susan Stinton (b1853 in Fremantle, WA). William (a Farmer) and Susan married in Bunbury WA in 1877. William had gone to Boyanup as a child - his father was a Warder in charge of convicts who were constructing roads in the region. William and Susan settled in Boyanup where they raised their family and William was a Farmer. Following Susan's death in 1922 William retired and travelled - he was in Gwalia, Leonora WA when he died.
Bob was a Farmer in Boyanup in 1908 when he married Florence Edith Colville (b1888 in New Zealand). The couple settled in Boyanup where Bob was an Orchardist and son Philip was born in 1912. Bob enlisted in the AIF in 1916, serving with the 46th Infantry Battalion (Service No:3140) in France and was Discharged in April 1918. Florence lived in Perth WA whilst Bob was away, and remained there when he returned to Australia.
Bob returned to Boyanup and by 1922 was Manager at The Park in Pinjarra. Florence and their son moved to Sydney NSW where Florence - as Madame Stella Maris - practised numerology, palmistry and astrology. By 1943 Bob had moved to Pinjarra, WA where he worked as a Labourer. He died in 1964, as did Florence.
