Llewellyn Morgan Jones was born in Brisbane, Queensland, 15th of July, 1885 and enlisted in 30th of June 1915 at his place of birth. He was ranked a Private and was first in the 25th Infantry Battalion before being transferred over to the 9th Infantry Battalion.

He was involved in the action around Somme, taking part in the battle to take Mouquet Farm in the 21st of August. He later died on the same day, aged 21 years of age.

Biography

"Mr. W. J. Jones, Latrobe terrace, Paddington, received word on Saturday that his brother. Private Llewellyn W. Jones, who left Brisbane in October last with reinforcements of the 25th Battalion, and who subsequently transferred to another unit, was killed in France on 21st August. He was only just 21 years-of-age, and was formerly a pupil at Milton State school.
