Son of  Michael Hussey and Elizabeth Hussey nee Ryan of 'Callanballan Station', Skipton, Victoria

Brother of Bernard Hussey who served with the 1st Australian Division Motor Transport Company. Returning to Australia on 12 July 1919; John Hussey who served with the 8th Battalion. Died of wounds on  10 August 1918 and buried in Vignacourt British Cemetery, Plot V, Row D, Grave 17 ; Charles Hussey who served with the 60th Battalion. Killed in action on 19 July 1916; Leonard Hussey 1st Australian Division Motor Transport Company, returning to Australia on 12 July 1919.

Commenced return to Australia on 26 July 1919 aboard HT Burma disembarking on 29 August 1919
