Biography

Reuben Napier Heath RAY was born in 1896 in Otago, New Zealand

His parents were Walter Humphrey RAY & Mary Julia SMITH who also came to Western Australia

He enlisted on 24th April, 1916 with the Australian Army - he was with the 11th Battalion, 21st reinforcements - Unit embarked from Fremantle on board HMAT Suffolk on 10th October, 1916

Reuben died of wounds on 19th September, 1918 in Peronne, France and is buried in Doingt Communal Cemetery Extension - he is also commemorated on the Australian War Memorial - he was awarded the British War Medal & the Victory Medal.
