Son of Albert Vinge and Dorothy Vinge nee Wilson of Wangaratta, Victoria.

Commenced return to Australia on 17 October 1916 aboard HT Ajana disembarking on 8 December 1916

Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

Post war he was a member of the Albury RSL. 

During 1925c George married Margaret Elsie McLellan in Victoria.
