Francis Patrick (Frank) DOLLING was born in 1879 in Waverley, Sydney, NSW

His parents were John DOLLING and Catherine Frances DOOLAN who married in 1860 in Western Australia

Frank married Harriet Matilda HALL on 8th October, 1902 in Sydney and had one daughter Doris Mildred born 1903 - Harriet died in 1971.

Frank also had two daughters to Ethel May WILLIAMS, Joan Patricia & Gwen.

He joined up to serve in WW1 on 2nd February, 1916 and enlisted in Liverpool, NSW on 3rd May, 1916  - he embarked with the 20th Infantry Battalion, 13th Reinforcements on the ship HMAT Ajana on the 5th July, 1916 & joined the 20th Battalion in the field on 16th November, 1916

He was wounded in action on 9th October, 1917 and sent to 4th London General Hospital on 16th October, 1917 with shell contusions & gun shot wounds to his left shoulder

On 11th December, 1918 he was invalided back to Australia on the ship HT Saxon suffering from Effort Syndrome (Shell shock) & was discharged on 20th April, 1919. He was awarded the British War Medal & the Victory Medal.

Frank died on the 7th March, 1951 in Hornsby, NSW
