Santo was born in Subiaco, Western Australia in 1897 as Santo McLEOD
His parents were Matthew CHERIGHAN & Flora McLEOD
He was brought up by his Uncle Vincent CHERIGHAN & Aunt Catherine nee MARSHALL - his father Matthew died in 1903 & his Mothers location is unknown
He died on 21st February, 1918 in the No.8 Australian General Hospital in Fremantle due to sarcoma in his arm which had spread
