Son of Benjamin Yates and Sarah Margaret Yates of Springside Street, Rozelle, NSW

Commenced return to Australia on 25 January 1919 aboard HT Ceramic disembarking at Port Said on 4 February 1919 due to influenza. He later continued to Australia aboard HT Lancashire disembarking on the 2 April 1919
