Military Medal
'Is brought to notice for his very gallant conduct during our operations on the 26th September, 1917, near ZONNEBEKE. When this man's Section Commander was seriously wounded, he took command of the section ad carried on in the most efficient manner. This man's Section was on the right flank of his Company, and besides advancing against heavy opposition, he succeeded in keeping touch with the right flank division. Throughout the whole operation, he carried o most efficiently, reporting progress of the unit on the right with great regularity, and generally displayed great courage and excellent leadership. He is strongly recommended for distinction.'
