Add my storyBiography
"THE LATE LCE.-CPL. R. B. McCREDIE.
Lce.-Cpl. Robert burns McCredie, who died of wounds sustained at the Dardenelles, was born at Sturt-street, Adelaide, on January 5, 1891. He was educated at the Sturt-Street Public School, and therein had a highly successful career. On leaving school he entered the grocery trade, in pursuance of which four and a half years ago he became employed by the Adelaide Co-operative Society, Limited, Angas street, Adelaide. While on the staff of the society he loyally accepted the call of his country. The deceased was a member of the Retail Grocers' Employees Association, and of the Distributing Trades Union. Possessed of a genial and gentlemanly temperament, he was widely esteemed among his acquaintances. Foremost in many varieties of sports, and a loyal supporter of the West Adelaide Football Club, his loss will be keenly felt by a large circle of sorrowing friends." - from the Adelaide Observer 26 Jun 1915 (nla.gov.au)
